Let yourself be charmed by the richness of the nearby villages and their heritage.
One of our favorites is Mornac-sur-Seudre, listed among The Most Beautiful Villages of France. Wandering through its narrow streets, lined with whitewashed stone houses, is a real pleasure. Every corner seems to tell a story, from colorful shutters to charming little squares.

You may also want to take a short detour to Saintes, where the Roman and medieval architecture is impressive. The Roman theatre and the Abbaye aux Dames are well worth a visit if you enjoy historic sites.
